Florida State University President Richard McCullough announced Marla Vickers as the university’s next vice president for University Advancement and president of the FSU Foundation. Vickers is an FSU alumna who currently serves as associate vice president of Advancement in the Division of Advancement & Alumni Engagement at Emory University in Atlanta. She starts Oct. 1.

‘Breaking barriers’: Marketing professor Maura Scott named Rockwood Eminent Scholar

Florida State University marketing professor Maura Scott, a pioneer in her field and a scholarly champion of the underserved, is the College of Business’ new Dr. Persis E. and Dr. Charles E. Rockwood Eminent Scholar in Marketing. The eminent scholar chair that Scott now holds was part of a recent $10 million gift that created the Dr. Persis E. Rockwood School of Marketing, the first U.S. marketing school named for a woman. Read more ...

FSU researchers explore how tech can support older adults through $14.7 million consortium grant

Professors of Psychology Walter Boot and Neil Charness, along with Assistant Professor of Computer Science Shayok Chakraborty, are part of a consortium that has been awarded a $14.7 million grant from the National Institute on Aging to work with emerging and existing technologies to promote the well-being, quality of life and independence of older adults and provide support for older adults with cognitive impairments. Read more ...
