Vanessa here!

Fall is here and there is so much to talk about: new books, cider, and good reads.

New Books

An Earl, The Girl, And A Toddler (releases April 27, 2021) has a cover. I think it’s gorgeous, and like the first book in the Rogues and Remarkable Women series, there’s a secret key to the story on the cover.

The audiobook of A Duke, The Lady, And A Baby released October 13. The fabulous Bahni Turpin, the Narrator of The Hate U Give and Children of Blood and Bone, is reading my book!!! It is so good. She does all the accents: West Indies, Scottish, and more.

I have seen the cover ideas for Island Queen (releases July 6, 2021). I can’t wait to see the final version, but I think you all will love Dorothy, beautiful Dorothy on the cover.

I have some special, special news to share about Island Queen, but I will save that for the next newsletter. This one is getting a little long.

Be safe. Vote.

And make cider!!!

The Cider

Well, autumn has enveloped us with scents and visuals that soothe our weary spirits. How can you go wrong with the aroma of cinnamon, pumpkin, and apple floating down the aisles? Pumpkin spice coffees, pies, cider, and cookies offer cheerful greetings to our palates and plates.

Here is my favorite spicy Pumpkin Cider recipe.

Pumpkin Syrup:

1 cup of Torani Pumpkin Spice Syrup

Spiced Cider

6 cups Apple cider

Fresh orange peel (from 1/2 an orange)

1 orange, sliced

20 cloves

4 cinnamon sticks

2 star anise

  1. Stud the orange slices with the cloves, so you will be able to keep them from floating into your ladled cider.
  2. Places slices and all the other ingredient into a slow cooker.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 2-3 hours or until fragrant and warm.
  4. Fish out the cinnamon, star anise and orange slices.
  5. Place the cooker on warm. The spicy cider is ready to serve.

Ladle some into a cute cup and settle in with a book.

I enjoy seeing pictures of my books in the wild. Make sure you tag me when you post on social media.
