Incident Description

It has been reported that a cargo vessel was attacked whilst anchored approximately 2nm north of Malabo. The pirates onboard one speedboat used a ladder to board the vessel. Once onboard, they managed to kidnap two crew members before escaping towards Cameroon. The remaining crew are classed as safe and the vessel has moved into Malabo Anchorage. UPDATE: Two of the crew left onboard the vessel were shot and are injured.
