The Codebreaker's Secret got a coveted starred review from ALA Booklist!
I am SO excited to share that jennifer Robideau is the narrator for The Codebreaker's Secret. Jennifer narrated Red Sky Over Hawaii and did such a wonderful job, so I'm thrilled that I was able to get her again. I know all the Hawaiian words are in good hands with her, because she grew up on O'ahu and knows the nuances of pronunciation

Do you know the difference between a code and a cipher? This was one of the first things I had to wrap my head around in the early days of research for The Codebreaker’s Secret. Here’s what I found out:..
Hawai'i Island Events
For my Hawai'i Island friends, please join us on August 2nd, 5 pm at Kona Stories in Keauhou for a talk about The Codebreaker's Secret! I'll be signing books afterwards.
And on August 13 I will be signing books at Kona Bay Books at the Grand Opening of their new store. Stay tuned for time.
I am a little over halfway in, and I love this story so much! This one also has a dual timeline and I have just finished writing the 1927 storyline and am embarking on the 1987 storyline with new characters and setting. Writing about Hawai'i in the 80s is turning out to be so much fun, and it is much easier because I lived it and I don't have to look up every single thing. I had grown pretty comfortable with the 1940s because of my five WWII stories, but the 20s were so different. I couldn't just ask my mom or old family friends what were you wearing or were the roads paved? I'm thankful that I found some great books for research. They were real lifesavers.
Her Most Perilous Flight is inspired by true events of the infamous Dole Air Race–a race to be the first to fly from California to Hawai'i– where eight planes took off and only two made it. This novel releases in spring of 2024. But stay tuned for other book news!
