YOUTH SAFETY:  Our Ongoing Commitment to Keep Kids Safe

The safety of children in our programs is the most important priority of the Boy Scouts of America.

The BSA’s safeguards are key parts of our multilayered approach to help keep kids safe.

These measures were informed by respected experts in the fields of child safety, law enforcement, and child psychology, and are among the strongest safeguards found in any youth-serving organization.

In the Jamboree on the Internet, they communicate with each other and do activities together on the Internet. There is no charge to participate in either JOTA or JOTI. Individual MCC dens, packs, troops, crews, and ships, groups of units in a community or with the same chartered partner, and districts are encouraged to plan and organize JOTA events, JOTI events, and combination JOTA/JOTI events. These events are often held on the Saturday morning or afternoon or the Sunday afternoon of JOTA/-JOTI weekend and are great recruiting opportunities.

Whether you are a new Den Leader or an experienced Cubmaster, training is important in delivering the Scouting program to our Scouts and families.  From Basic Leader to Advanced Training, these courses help to deliver a quality Scouting program.  The Michigan Crossroads Council Training team provides one-day to multi-day courses for all Scouting leaders.

Included in the MCC Program Fees are FREE tent campsites for Scouting units.
