Hip hip hooray!

Our oldest volunteer this month looking very dapper in his fedora hat. Joe celebrated his 89th birthday in September and spent time with his volunteer gardener friends to mark the occasion. How lovely! A big cheer to Joe from all at Hardie Park!

Meeting to mark the occasion

The new bike project is coming together with our newly appointed apprentice Ross settling into his post. He's been working hard over the last few weeks setting up the 'Old Spokes Home' with guidance from Richard his mentor ready for business.  To showcase their work we have invited project funders, Forward Motion to the park on Friday 25th October at 10am to see first hand the progress made. YOU are very welcome to come along too. Local school children from St Josephs are visiting to learn some basic maintenance skills on site. We are looking forward to opening our doors soon.

Our creative volunteer Rebecca has produced the project logo and is busy designing leaflets and point of sale material to inform our customers of services the project can provide.

Keep your eyes peeled for further updates and launch of the cycle hub project website and social media channels.

Oh what a night!

Big screen, big film, big audience. People came from far and wide to see the blockbuster film The Greatest Showman outdoors in the park last month.

THANK YOU to all who supported our first Moonbeamers event.

The low down from the kitchen. 311 burgers sold with the most popular order being a double cheeseburger.

The low down from the weather man. Torrential rain prior to event. Surprisingly dry throughout the evening.

All in all a GREAT SHOW! Until the next time!

Hardie Park volunteers excelled on the Macmillan Cake Sale day. Thank you to everyone who supported the fundraiser whether that be donation of cakes or raffle gift or spent time at the cafe drinking tea and coffee with a slice of victoria sponge.

The outcome of the day was a huge sum of cash for a very worthwhile cause. £760.58 beating last years result. Amazing, well done ladies!

Christmas is coming...

Our Christmas event this year is on Saturday 30th November between 11am and 3pm. We will be arranging time slots for santa and tickets will be on sale in advance of the event. We will advertise the tickets on our social media and in the cafe when available.

If you sell something nice and would like a stall at the Christmas Market please fill out our stallholder form to enquire, our stall co-ordinator will get back to you asap. It is an outdoor event and you need to provide your own gazebo, table / chair and have a current PLI certificate.

We are looking forward to getting in the festive spirit with the SS17 Community. Invite your friends, share the date, we'll see you there!
