This Week at Memorial

This coming Sunday we welcome Rev. Dr. Gilbert Roth as our presiding pastor while Pastor Joel is at Synod Assembly.  Come be with us as we worship together in spirit and truth.

This Week in Worship

This coming Sunday is the Second Sunday after Pentecost in our church year.  Please be with us as we explore the following texts together.

• First reading - 1 Samuel 3:1-10, (11-20)
• Psalm - Psalm 139:1-6, 13-18
• Second reading - 2 Corinthians 4:5-12
• Gospel - Mark 2:23-3:6

Synod Assembly

The 2018 ELCA Southeastern Synod Assembly will be held June 1 - June 3, 2018 at the Chattanooga Convention Center, 1150 Carter Street, Chattanooga, TN. Under this year's theme, Reformation 500…Now What?, we will continue to think about the ways that the church is called to be an ever-reforming one.

Our voting representatives will be Pastor Joel Emerson and our Council President, Judy Wahlstrom.  Please pray for our Assembly and all involved as we begin a year-long discernment process to prepare to elect a new Bishop in June of 2019.

Sunday School

We are officially taking a break from Sunday School for the summer.  We will have several special Sundays over the summer for spiritual formation for all ages as well as specific events for our kids.  So keep an eye out for more information coming soon!

New Liturgy Beginning June 10

We will begin using a new liturgy on June 10 written by our very own Pastor Joel and Rev. Dr. Delmer Chilton.  Please check it out and begin listening to the canticles in advance so you can be ready to sing with passion as we begin using this new liturgy. 

Lauren has asked to take a step back on accompaniment duties for the summer and we are very excited and grateful to have Julie and John Pennell to help in this area for the coming months.
