Thrasher expresses optimism in his final State of the University address

Florida State announces new dean of the College of Music

Florida State University Provost Sally McRorie announced that Todd Queen has been named dean of the College of Music. He will start in the role Jan. 11, 2021. Queen currently serves as dean of the Louisiana State University College of Music & Dramatic Arts. He will succeed Patricia Flowers, who returned to the FSU College of Music faculty last June after serving as dean since 2013. Read more ...

FSU appoints new director of nationally recognized CARE program

Florida State University announced Wednesday the appointment of DeOnte Brown as the new director of the Center for Academic Retention and Enhancement (CARE). He will start in the role Jan. 4, 2021. Brown, who also will serve as assistant dean of Undergraduate Studies, comes to FSU from Clemson University where he is the assistant dean of students. FSU chemistry professor uses ancient materials to make newer, better solar cells

A Florida State University research team is mixing the old with the new to create a more stable solar cell. Professor of Chemistry Biwu Ma and his team published a new study that shows if you add a layer of ancient organic pigment to a perovskite solar cell, it increases the stability and efficiency of the cell.
