Happy Saturday! I'm committing to sending out newsletters twice a month on the second and fourth Saturdays. This week, and every second Saturday, will be my 'Behind the Scenes' edition, while my second newsletter of the month will be my 'Reading List' edition. Enjoy, and hit reply if you have any questions or comments!

A Daily Schedule for Those Long Days at Home

With Coronavirus keeping lots of people at home, a friend of mine shared a daily schedule to help keep families sane. As a homeschooler, I'm used to planning out family's days, so making up a fresh schedule to use while Fulton and Teddy are home was a no brainer. But to families whose kids have always been in school, and who may be missing work, I can imagine the dread at the long empty days ahead. So I added a blank daily schedule to my free resource library, along with an example schedule to give your days a routine and structure. For some for kits and games your kids may enjoy, check out my 'Recommendations' page.

Lenten Devotions

Avoiding crowds means we'll be doing stations of the cross at home on Friday's now. I'll miss participating in the devotion at church (while the kids will miss the pizza), but I also enjoy our own quiet version of stations at home. If you're not in the habit of saying daily prayers as a family, nows a good time to start! I've listed some of my favorite Lenten and family prayer resources on my 'Recommendations' page. And don't forget my 'How to Start a Family Prayer Time' kit in the free resource library. We're approaching St. Joseph's day and initially we were planning a nice meal out (a rare treat for us all), but now, I'm thinking we'll be doing a take-out order from the nicest place still open. We're also lucky to live in a town with an Italian bakery that makes delicious, traditional St. Joseph cakes. It's truly a first class feast when I don't need to cook anything! Hopefully we can still score some fresh cakes on Thursday.

First Look
The Finished Attic

As I mentioned in my Quick Takes this week, the room is still a mess, and we're waiting for furniture to arrive, but the girls are moved in. After much discussion, Addie and Edie managed to agree on the wall and carpet colors. The lavender accent walls are HGTV's Sherwin Williams paint in Thistle (SW6283), available from Lowes.
