Five Star Christmas Reads

Join Goodreads! It's so much fun to see what your friends are reading. Follow me to see my ratings and comments on almost 600 books.

Some of my favorites are Christmas books. In fact, I usually read nothing but Christmas-based fiction and devotions during December. Here are a few I rated with five stars:

Young Adult:

Tinsel in a Tangle by Laurie Germaine
Mele Kalikimaka by Taylor Bennett
A Nancy Drew Christmas
by Carolyn Keene

Adult: (also suitable for YA)

The Christmas Spirits on Tradd Street by Karen White
The Wedding Dress Christmas by Rachel Hauck
The Christmas Train by David Baldacci
Mary's Christmas Surprise by Carol James
A Lowcountry Christmas
by Mary Alice Monroe

I wish you and your family a lovely Christmas season, full of happiness and good cheer. And may our God of Hope bless your new year with peace and joy.

Consider digging a little deeper
Giving Tuesday

So, you've almost melted your credit card with Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales. Could you please check to see if there's a little left over for some organizations that serve the needy? You might consider giving to the following:

  • Church ministries
  • Food pantry
  • Homeless shelter
  • Utility companies to pay bills for the needy
  • Animal shelters

If you'd like a list of specific non-profits to which I donate, please jot me an email.

Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference

I put on my cap of courage and attended the Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference two weeks ago in person. I'm so glad I did. While there were only 200 attendees, compared to the usual 500, I made some like-minded friends. I also met with a couple publishers and agents. I'll let you know if anyone shows any interest in The Demons Among Us.

If you're a writer, I highly recommend you attend this conference next May. Frank Peretti, best-selling Christian author of This Present Darkness, will be teaching.

Last month's most popular blog

In November, I posted a blog about a cell tower. For whatever reason, it garnered more emails and comments than any other blog I've posted. Check it out. I'd be so grateful if you could please subscribe to my blog, which I post every Friday. Potential publishers always ask how many subscribers I have. Simply complete the one-question form on the bottom of any page on my website.

I'd love to hear from you. What are your online faves? Read any good books you'd like me to recommend?
