What is Cultural Connect all about?
Cultural Connect is a new initiative that will pair U.S. and international students in a semester-long peer mentoring partnership. The goal of Cultural Connect is to foster meaningful interaction that will help integrate international students into the campus culture and help U.S. students cultivate global competencies.
What does it mean to be part of the Cultural Connect program?
1. Each International student will be paired up with a U.S. student as peer mentors.
2. Each pair will be required to attend six (6) events planned by the Center for International Education (CIE) during the term. These events might include: a trip to Devil's Lake State Park, a Cook & Meet, a welcome orientation and cross-cultural training session, and other fun events.
3. Each pair will be required to keep a weekly journal of any activities they have done.
4. Each pair will be required to meet at least five (5) times outside of the planned events.
