Dear USET/USET SPF Family,
The White House Council on Native American Affairs (WHCNAA) has announced that it will be hosting a webinar on the National Electric Vehicle (EV) Initiative for Tribal Nations. This webinar will provide an overview of this Initiative and inform Tribal Nations of the resources available for EV development. This effort is to ensure that Tribal Lands and Native communities are included in the physical buildout of a national EV network.
Details regarding this webinar are as follows—
This webinar is being facilitated by the Institute for Tribal Environmental Professionals’ Tribal Clean Transportation Program at Northern Arizona University. Questions regarding this webinar should be directed to Andy Bessler, Program Manager, Tribal Clean Transportation Program, Northern Arizona University at Andy.Bessler@nau.edu.
On June 3, 2022, USET SPF submitted comments to the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation (ACHP) expressing concerns regarding a Draft Exemption from Historic Preservation Review for installation of electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE). ACHP affirmed that the Draft Exemption would only apply to EVSE installations in existing structures located outside Tribal Nation jurisdictional boundaries (e.g., existing parking garages and parking lots) and, therefore, would not impact any grounds previously undisturbed.
