Hello beautiful beings!
A question came up in last week's Money Magic and I think it pertains to all of us, so I wanted to chat about it today.
Tess Summers has a new release this week and she asked about finding that balance between setting an intention for the release and not having any expectations.
If you've been actively manifesting for any amount of time, you've probably struggled with this same question. The Universe needs to know your desires. If you don't put in your order for a Top 10 on Amazon release, it will think you're content with the set point you normally hit, right?
But by the same token, you hate to get your expectations too high. If you end up disappointed in the release, that could send you into a negative spiral that will totally affect your ability to manifest your desires. You'll be out of that state of gratitude, and into a lack mentality.
So what's the balance? What's the trick? How do you set a clear intention, believe it will happen, but protect yourself against disappointment if it doesn't happen?
As Tess spoke a word dropped into my head-- ALLOWANCE.
It's not a word I use on a regular basis, but, of course, I recognized it. If you've listened to any of the Abraham-Hicks channelings, you'll know it's a word they use all the time. Allowance is that state that allows you to manifest.
So what is allowance? We asked the participants on the Zoom meeting and they weighed in with what it felt like to them--flow, the state of receiving, ease.
Allowance is the absence of resistance.
So if you think of Tess' scenario, her instinct to protect herself from disappointment and--here's the irony--from getting out of an abundance mindset--will actually create resistance.
What is the antidote to protecting yourself from disappointment? I think (don't shoot me) it comes back to that sense of trust. Can you believe that the Universe got your order, and if it couldn't orchestrate those exact results for this book release, it's working to bring them to you? It may not be for this book, or it may be this book but next year, or in 10 years, but as long as you keep believing it, it will manifest for you.
I trusted I would make 7 figures a year from my writing long before I'd even hit 6 figures. I knew 6 figures was a possibility because a generous author I admired shared her results. (This is why I believe clearing the idea that it's rude to discuss money. It's like the 4-minute mile-- when you hear what's possible, you invite that possibility in for yourself.)
And yes, I've definitely tried to protect myself from disappointment. I know what it's like to wonder if I did something wrong-- if I hadn't "manifested right" or missed some crucial ingredient to the magic spell to bring about my desires on the timeline I wanted them on.
Hint-- if you think you're doing something wrong in manifesting, that becomes more resistance!
Along with that element of trust, the other necessary ingredient to being able to flow when the results aren't immediate is that feeling of self-worth. Clear any blocks you have that your book isn't good enough to hit top 10 this time, or that you're not there yet as a writer, or that you don't have the platform yet, or that manifestation doesn't work for you, or.... [insert a million other limiting beliefs we tell ourselves].
Many books no different or better than yours have hit it big. Really. At least five million people on the internet will tell you how unworthy they believe Fifty Shades was and yet E. L. James made 9 figures.
Be in allowance. Be in a state of receiving. Trust that it will happen for you. Put your order in with the Universe. Everything is already in escrow, looking for the opportunity to gift to you.
XXXOOO
