Newsletter - September 2022
Hello, from the Emerald Isles! How was your summer? Or winter, if you live to the South.
My kids are back to school, and, from tomorrow, it will be all three of them, all morning. For the first time since I started writing, I will have enough hours kid-free to plan my work as, at least, a part-time job.
I do have one major problem, though. I laptop died. I am making do with my iPad, but I’ve no money for a new laptop at the minute so the iPad might become a permanent solution… Luckily I had made the covers for Anything For Him (mm romance) and The Elemental Bride (fantasy romance) before technology abandoned me.
I will be finishing the mm romance soon an publishing it by the end of the month. I love this story. I’m a sucker for love that’s desperate and passionate. CK’s love for Noah is definitely passionate and even hopeless at times. Having been in love with him for years, he certainly did expect to ever have a chance to make his daydreams come true. He always thought that if Noah ever fell for a man, it wouldn’t be him, but Noah’s best friend, tall, gorgeous Ethan Parker. And it’s not like Ethan is entirely indifferent to Noah either… This is an mm romance with a twist, lol.
As I said above, I already have the cover made. If you’re interested in mm romance and want to be the first one to know when it will be available and the first one to see the cover, you can register your interest HERE.
I am then hoping to start publishing The Elemental Bride (Fantasy Romance) in November, but I want to have the entire Season 1 sorted before I publish episode 1, so I can put them out fast as well. That cover is done too, and I will give you all a chance to take a look soon. I’m particularly proud of it.
After that, I am moving to a series of mm romance novellas. And then, back to contemporary romance. I have so many plans for those, but I need a lot of time to outline this works, so when I start, I can publish them faster one after the other.
I'm still looking for Beta Readers and Arc Readers in the following genres:
Contemporary Romance
Fantasy Romance
MM Romance
Beta Readers and ARC readers (or Alpha Readers) are so important to us, authors. If you do any sort of craft or artwork, you will know how hard it is to see your own mistakes and, especially in writing, after editing so much, you don't even notice them so much.
When it comes to Beta Readers, their opinions and remarks really help shape the final work. Concepts that are repetitive, images that don't work, actions that don't make logistical sense.
Alpha Readers will read the final product and add a review on release day.
Both Beta and ARC readers get to read the book for free in exchange for an honest review (whether to us or to the public) and early release with a very advantageous, discounted price, only for them.
If you would like to be a member of either group, please email me at sophie@sophieamonroe.com and specify in which genre you're interested.
That’s all for this month. I hope you have a great month of September. See you in October!
