My dear reader,
First, thank you for joining me on this journey. It has been an eventful year of illnesses and ailments, of coming out of my pandemic cave, and venturing further into the land of entrepreneurship by revamping my author site as a store. None of this would be happening without you, so thank you for being here.
I'm ending this year determined to fit in one last DIY project. Turns out, I seem to do this every October/November time frame. This year I'm focusing once again on my home office. As I've mentioned in previous newsletters, this is more of an alcove than an office. There are no doors, so I use kiddie fences to ensure my stationery inventory isn't harmed by curious little hands. The ceiling is barely 7 feet at its entrance due to the HVAC chase. But the light in this space is beautiful, and it allows me to have my small business
When I first moved into this space, I painted everything white to start over. I didn't know what I wanted the space to be, but the sponged pink and brown (as the previous owners had left it) certainly wasn't my style.
Over the years, I deconstructed my tall bookcases to half their height to install wall shelves to bring more airiness to the space. And now, I've removed those wall shelves to repaint the wall... five times, because colors and lighting are weird bedfellows. Thank goodness for the ability to order paint sample stickers online! The final color I picked wasn't one found on the paint chip wall in my local home improvement store, so who knows how many samples I might have tried. I'm still reorganizing the space, but I'm very excited about the update.
