My Movie House Childhood Cartoon Saturdays and Candy Box Kazoos
It wasn’t always this way it used to be when bad guys always lost and paid for their sins there were cowboy heroes and stars and stripes when boys could be proud then become lovers in Europe, singers and musicals and movie stars where Sarah and Willy gave each other hickeys and sighs and stepping softly on popcorn carpet and a gumshoe floor ju-ju beads tossed from the balcony where flashlight ushers threw you out or showed the way it is where I had lost myself and didn’t want to leave but went outside to see what day
used to be like when the streetlights lit but didn’t matter and stepped back inside to see the credits and who was your favorite you wouldn’t tell and I guessed then who i should pretend to be to earn your favor because I was dying of nostalgia wanting to be spontaneous no credit card no i-phone no computer where i could run outside and not be afraid a child again my reality to be projected onto the screen where all is forgiven when the lights come on
