It's 2 AM. I'm just putting the finishing touches on the coloring of a comic book page. Colors are right. Lines are clean. Lettering is loaded in. I'm ready to hit 'save'...

-BUT WAIT A MINUTE!

What page am I on? Did I forget that I'm about to accidentally overwrite an existing page?

Believe me, one click of the mouse button has undone hours and hours of work so many times before that I was ready to lose my shit.

That's why came up with this handy gadget: an actual chart I print out on stiff paper and pin to the bulletin board. Like a bowling score, I fill in the progress of each page: Pencils, letters, inks, colors until the little box above the number is black. So when I'm ready to hit 'save' at 2 AM and get 3 hours of sleep before my day job all I have to do is...

It's saved my ass so many times late at night as brain-addled as I am.
