The Beyond 1 Million Genomes plus (B1MGplus) project provides coordination and support to the 1+ Million Genomes Initiative to enable secure access to genomic and corresponding clinical data across Europe, supporting research, health policy and personalised healthcare.

B1MGplus workshop showcases the Maturity Level Model for genomics in healthcare

In September 2025, the B1MGplus project held a webinar on how to use the Maturity Level Model (MLM) for Genomics in Healthcare. The MLM is a framework for assessing the maturity of an organisation and defining a path for optimisation. In the context of genomics and healthcare, it helps European countries assess and enhance the integration of genomics into their healthcare systems.

The aim of the GDI/B1MGplus Stakeholder Forum 2026 is to disseminate project information, updates and outcomes to a range of stakeholders. This meeting will focus on the interactions between GDI and the Genome of Europe, ERDERA, CANDLE and EUCAIM projects.

1+ Million Genomes infrastructure - the benefits of federated analysis

The GDI project has released an explainer video introducing the concept and importance of the 1+MG federated analysis infrastructure. By using a federated approach, data from many countries can be combined to give more meaningful and reliable results, while respecting national data protection laws.

The GDI project has released four interview videos with experts working on the 1+Million Genomes Initiative. The interview series is a follow-up on the 1+MG video for citizens and healthcare professionals released earlier this year.
