Dear USET/USET SPF Family,
The USET Office of Environmental Resource Management is hosting the Botany and Wetland Delineation Seminar at the Schoodic Institute at Acadia National Park in Winter Harbor, Maine.
The upcoming seminar will feature engaging lectures each morning, followed by practical field exercises in the afternoons. These sessions will cover vegetation sampling techniques, soil analysis, and wetland delineation, allowing participants to conduct a thorough exploration of specific wetland plants, hydrology, and soils. This comprehensive approach will enhance the participants' capabilities as wetland specialists, enabling effective monitoring and assessment activities. Additionally, the seminar will empower Tribal Nations to improve the quantity and quality of wetlands through conservation and restoration efforts. At the conclusion of the seminar, students will have the opportunity to earn a certificate of training recognized by the Society of Wetland Scientists, contingent upon achieving a score of 70% or higher on a comprehensive exam.
We look forward to seeing you there!
