Welcome to the European Cluster Collaboration
Platform’s monthly newsletter for June! This month, we hosted three events
filled with insightful discussions. If you missed any of them, don't worry! You
can find key highlights and important upcoming opportunities in this
newsletter, all designed to support and strengthen Europe’s vibrant cluster
community.
Kicking off the June events, the EU – Taiwan Matchmaking Event took place in Berlin with a delegation of about 80 companies and trade organisations from Taiwan. The event set out to provide participants with an opportunity to identify areas of common interest and deepen cluster cooperation between organisations in the EU and Taiwan. The event saw 60+ bilateral meetings reflecting the demand for deepening cooperation between European and Taiwanese clusters, as well as engaging discussions at the Taiwan-EU Semiconductor Forum, and an insightful visit to Fraunhofer IZM, exploring advanced semiconductor and packaging technologies.
During the same week, the ECCP on behalf of the European Commission together with the ANIMA Investment Network, organised the EU-South Med Matchmaking event on 10-13 June in Frankfurt, Germany, in the frame of the simultaneous ACHEMA. The event brought together cluster organisations and SMEs from the European Union non-EU countries participating in the Single Market Programme/COSME Strand, and South Med countries. The event crucially underscored and demonstrated the value of international cooperation in turbocharging innovation and economic growth, securing stable and effective value chains in the face of common global challenges.
Wrapping up June’s events, the ECCP hosted the Clusters meet Regions and Matchmaking event in Graz, Austria on 18-19 June. The event consisted of almost 100 participants from Europe and beyond engaging in a series of discussions and over 40 bilateral meeting. With Europe’s shift towards climate neutrality and a digital transformation in mind, the event’s theme ‘Tradition Reinvented’ explored how clusters can spearhead transformative shifts towards a sustainable and resilient EU economy. Find out what was discussed during the event in comprehensive article.
Attendees were also taken on a city tour to explore the Styrian human health and technology cluster, visiting the Biobank and the University Hospital Graz complex. To relive those memorable moments, take a look at our event photo album.
Coinciding with the “Clusters meet Regions” held in Graz, the ECCP published a new input paper that presents observations on the Styrian cluster landscape, highlighting key considerations for the region’s future development.
