The ICCS 2022 European Report is now available open-access via the IEA website. The press release is also available here. Some key findings from the European Report include:

• Most eighth-grade students across the European ICCS 2022 participating countries expressed a strong sense of European identity. On average, 95% of students reported seeing themselves as European.
• The majority of students endorsed freedom of movement for citizens of European countries within Europe, although results also suggest considerable support among young people for additional regulations.
• Students supported cooperation among European countries for safeguarding of the environment and adopting common policies in Europe. 92% of students agreed with the statement that European countries should promote an economic growth sustainable for the environment.

IEA is also delighted to announce that the open-access ICCS 2022 International Database is available. This array of data contains achievement and contextual data aimed at building an understanding of how countries prepare their young people for citizenship.

ICCS 2022 data will allow education systems to evaluate the strengths of educational policies, from a comparative perspective, and to measure progress in achieving critical social objectives of their educational policy agendas.
