Meet the NUFSICISUM Winners: Jordan Middleton

2019 saw a record number of nominations (59!) for the Coalition’s annual NUFSICISUM Youth Leadership Award. Over the coming months we’ll be introducing you to the six outstanding young NUFSICISUM winners, and celebrating the contributions they’ve made to their schools and communities through music.

This month, let’s get to know Jordan Middleton from High River, AB! Read more about Jordan here.

Spotlight on… Liz Craig

Pianist and music educator Liz Craig was among the youth delegates at our inaugural Youth4Music Toronto Leadership Symposium in 2015, and we were thrilled to catch up with her again at our most recent symposium in March of this year. In her 28 years, Liz has achieved much success as a professional musician (though not without challenges). She is in demand as a piano teacher and performer, and is currently the president of the ORMTA Central Toronto Branch. “Perhaps I’m a huge music nerd, but music just really gives me so much energy and purpose.” It is “my passion, my income, my business, my pleasure, my social time with friends, most of everything!” Click here to read more about Liz, her thoughts on music education, and her insights into the business of being a musician.

Youth4Music Investigation: Cadenza

Youth4Music is interested in learning about the practical uses of the Cadenza app for music students - will you help us investigate? Cadenza, part of the Music Tool Suite, is a motivating practice tool that can be used independently or with your teacher. We’d like to learn more about the practical uses of Cadenza for music students in terms of solo practice, ensemble practice, and music creation. If you’re interested in becoming a Youth4Music Investigator please contact Sharon at youth4music@coalitioncanada.ca.
