Hello, all,

Just posting a quick update because…wow! Dealing with law enforcement and insurance companies—and replacing Paul’s truck and tools—is my new full-time job. 😕

Although we’re still waiting to hear from our insurance company with a settlement offer, we’ve been looking at trucks and trying to decide what will fit Paul’s needs as he works less and gets his knees replaced. (Saw the surgeon last week, but no dates yet.)

Making a spreadsheet of 40+ years of hand tools is something I wouldn’t wish on anybody. Gah!

One good thing to come of this: our Sheriff raided the pot farm across the creek from us. They destroyed 300+ plants (a relatively small operation, I’m told), arrested one person (who was out twenty minutes after they booked him—it’s the law) and found meth, which, in their opinion, explains why someone forged the thick underbrush of the creek to steal Paul’s truck. Even though we’ve changed the locks and put in a new security system at the shop, not having those three grow houses operating next door, definitely helps us sleep better.

Hopefully, one of these days, we’ll be back to some semblance of normal.

Life does carry on. This beautiful girl is graduating from 8th Grade this week. Here she was with her first report card.

And she turns 14 a few days later. You’ll never meet a sweeter, kinder, more loving teen. Here we are at Easter.

Speaking of traveling, we had to cancel our Memorial Day camping trip, but we will be on the “East Side,” as we call the Owens Valley near Mammoth and Mono Lake, next week. I can’t wait to share some fun and truly relaxing photos. But a lack of cell service means I can’t do my usual Q&A.
