Hello Friends!

Welcome to this week's "The Cre8tive Life"-your weekly newsletter full of lifestyle tips, smiles, and cool things to check out!

If you have any future topic ideas / events I should know about (or that you want to invite me to) / random things you think I should check out, PLEASE feel free to send those along my way! I always LOVE discovering and learning about new things! Have a GREAT rest of your day, and take time to enjoy your life!

*** "The Cre8tive Life" is the weekly "feel good" component of my company, The Cre8tive Artisan, which is where I "make the magic happen" and produce fun, exciting, and engaging lifestyle events that help connect us humans in deeper ways. Feel free to CHECK OUT MY WEBSITE to see what I do, and let me know if there is ever anything I can do to help you out! And, as always, if this newsletter is "not your thing", please feel free to unsubscribe (however, I really hope you don't).

*Also, you can check out my "daily" randomness on Instagram: HERE

My weekly (random) compilation of some of my favorite "cre8tive" things that I want to share:

  • FAVORITE WORD: Pandiculation

  • ADVICE: "Take what is perception and transform reality."- Bunmi Samuel (A friend of mine who is a living, breathing, testimony of this)

  • MOVIE: I was a bit "in my feels" this week, and really liked this touching movie called, "Last Love."

  • FEEL GOOD STORY: A "fresh" way to look at the act of FORGIVENESS

  • FOOD: "Omelette in a Hole"--A recipe that I REALLY want to to try- this VIDEO made it look so cool and fun!

  • RANDOM LIFE TIP: You can use Google as a timer by typing "Set timer (x) minutes" into the search bar. (It even buzzes at the last second----go ahead, you know you want to try it!)

  • WILD CARD: I saw a friend (jokingly) post THIS VIDEO this week, and actually found it to be quite genius...and, have to admit that my "Antisocial New Yorker" side kind of wants to invest in one...especially to use on the subway-lol

Throughout our whole life cycle in growing up, going to school, getting degrees, and securing gainful employment, we have been groomed to believe that "hard work is the way" to achieving success. While this can be true, it is also VERY IMPORTANT to keep a balance of self care as well. Being in tune with your spirit, as well as your specific individual needs for mental health, reign supreme in helping you to show up and fully operate as your best self in whatever you do in your life- whether it be work or personal related. "You can not pour from an empty cup," and need to do a little self check-in every now and again to make sure that you feel balanced (in whatever that means to you). Case and point, if you have physically been around me at all (or have even had a loose conversation with me), you will quickly learn and hear about how important travel is to me. In fact, I often share a favorite quote that, "Travel is my therapy." No words ring truer for me. It is where I am able to do a lot of self reflection and reconnection, tap into my inner explorer, and see life through a different lens. I find it to be very healing, and is something that I absolutely have to have in my life for me to feel my best self. And, I will always aim to make room for it somehow and some way because I know how much my soul needs it. I feel this way about art as well- whether it is creating something, or wandering about a museum, gallery, or random pop-up. It helps me tap back into my creative space. And, I feel that when I am operating in that headspace, the best Erika shows up in all facets of my life.

Yes, life can be about hard work- but, don't forget to keep a little balance, and to add a little self care every now and again too. It helps to keep your mind and spirit "fresh," and is a true enhancement to your overall well-being. You need it and deserve it.

What are some things that you can do this week to "show up for yourself," and operate in self care? What are some things that you LOVE to do, but have put on the back burner to lead and live your busy life? I challenge you to do one of those things this week!

I am STILL in the process of creating some "non-traditional" events where people can connect on a deeper level in person. And, I am still in need of a bit more feedback in my survey. If you have not done so already, please take a quick 5 minutes to fill out:

Thanks sooooooo much in advance for your time!

***Totally disregard this part of the newsletter if you have already done this.
