A.B.C. TOOLBOX #5

On meritocracy and managing probability in business.

Hello! Welcome to the A.B.C. TOOLBOX bulletin  a weekly selection of ideas, tools and people that I have come across and found interesting.

Remember: it is written with the intention to inspire and help you grow in business. I hope you will enjoy it!

----------

A. Book: From zero to the Forbes TOP 5 companies

There is a guy who is not yet as famous as Bill Gates or Richard Branson, but he has also built a business from zero to billions.

His strengths are not his outgoing personality nor his technological wizardry. His secret powers are radical transparency and idea meritocracy.

This guy has made a huge effort to analyse, sum up and give to the public the thinking strategies and tools behind his company’s success.

Enjoy the story of Ray Dalio, the founder of Bridgewater (an outstanding hedge fund), in his, sometimes brutally pragmatic, book "Principles".

My takeaway from this book is that opinions do not matter, only facts from credible sources do.

B. Blog: Looking for an investor? Help him make the right decision.

As you may or may not know I have recently become a venture capitalist.

As a rookie in this area I still have a pretty fresh view of the way startups and investors interact.

Since May I have scanned 100 pitch decks and met for multiple meetings with over 30 companies, spending 1 to 6 hours hours with each company.

If you want to help your potential investor make the right decision and invest in you - read my new blog post.

C. Live video: October 24 - will you participate?

I was asked multiple times to run a live session on Facebook and share my knowledge and answer questions on business growth in real time.

I would like to invite you to the first, exclusive, free 60-minute live session with Q&A (in English).

The topic is: “Building a new offer around the client” - how to take a service from an idea to the market and minimize the risk of failure.

It will take place on Facebook on October 24 at 8 PM, Warsaw time (11 AM PST, 2 PM EST).

Join the event now and post your questions.
