I made a thing View in browser

As I sit down to write this newsletter, I’ve spent the majority of my day writing Vic and Jacob attempting a craft. That’s as much as I want to say, since I don’t want to spoil PsyCop 12. But it got me to thinking about how many crafts I think I would like to do vs. how many I actually do.

A few weeks ago, I ran into a friend at the store. How she recognized me in the mask, I have no idea. But I had a bunch of felt in my cart that I bought to make some cute coasters. (Here’s a link to the cute coasters).

Frankly, if I spent the time to sew these together, I don’t think I’d put drinks on them.

Maybe I’d put a magnet on the back and stick them to my fridge. Anyway. I showed her the felt and said I was actually likely to sit there looking at the felt and never make the thing, cos that’s how I roll. And I still haven’t made the thing.

But I’m pleased with myself for following up on a project I’ve been wanting to try called ice dyeing. I had the procion fiber-reactive dyes to begin with and just needed to get a few supplies from the dollar store to do the dyeing. And I have an ice-maker, so it’s good to use up all that ice once in a while that’s been sitting around getting stale. I’m happy with the way they came out but would like to try another batch with some salt added so I end up with fewer white areas and a more subtle result.

You can also do this with snow. And it’s definitely possible that by the time I’m ready to do another dye batch, there will be enough snow on the ground to snow dye.

So Cute

Here’s another impressive craft sent to me by Spellcraft fan Jacki P.- it’s a tiny crocheted Meringue! Isn’t she adorable? I’m just crazy about Meringue’s little feet. And she's sparkly.

What about you—have you been feeling crafty lately? Feel free to reply and send me pics. I love seeing them :-)

Where's the Audio?
The ABCs of Spellcraft Collection

I'm frustrated to report that the second ABCs of Spellcraft audiobook is still in limbo in the backend of Audible. Nick Hudson totally crushed the narration and I can't wait for you all to hear it.

Paperbacks are available now.

Merch Still Available

With Covid-19 restrictions in place at the printer’s, there’s a longer lead time on my PsyCop and Spellcraft merch, but it will get to you eventually ;-)
