Your Questions Answered

Earlier in term 4 NTCOGSO hosted an online information session with the Department of Education and Training for school chairs & treasurers on the 2025 school budget & additional funding. This saw 50 chairs and treasurers attend with very positive feedback.

The Department has provided answers to your questions that were asked during the information session and they can be downloaded below.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to all our Members and Guests who attended the Annual Full Council and AGM on Saturday. We hope you all enjoyed the days meeting and gained useful information from the speakers to better support our schools.

At the Annual General Meeting we welcomed new members to the Executive Committee including Ruth Mirams to the role of NTCOGSO President.

Ruth is a passionate advocate for quality public education, bringing her extensive experience as a businesswoman, executive leader, and trusted advisor to her new role as President of NTCOGSO, where she is committed to ensuring every child in the Northern Territory has the opportunity to thrive.

The NTCOGSO Full Council on Saturday adopted 4 new policy positions which will form a basis for our advocacy in the future. These policy positions included:

• School Based Mental Health Services
• School Based Police Program
• School Based Nurses
• Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Schools
