REV. PINKNEY'S INTERNET RADIO SHOW WANTS TI's TO INTERVIEW EACH WEEK!

Rev. Edward Pinkney is a civil rights minister with a heart to help the TI community.  He and Pastor Chief Jones are examples of non-targeted individuals with whom our community has made great alliances and who  have become instrumental in trying to rescue those who are suffering and dying due to the targeting program.

It is amazing how determined he is to help our community by including a TI each week to tell their story.

If you or someone you know has a story to tell and would like to inform the general public of your situation, please respond to this email - info@pactsntl.org -  for a chance to speak live on Rev. Pinkney's Internet radio show which airs on Sunday afternoons at  5:00 PM Eastern / 2:00 PM Pacific.

You may listen to the show each week by calling:  323-642-1559.

LATEST ON INTERNET

By Daniel in Ireland Dec 2019

Summary of below:

  1. World's Top 12 search engines 2019/2020
  2. Internet decentralized - '..defending digital privacy, free speech, and innovation'
  3. Youtube alternatives - includes decentralised options
  4. Internet Browsing privacy: - Use VPN and/or Tor

World's Top 12 search engines 2019/2020:  (For TI's note number 8)

  1. Google (74%)
  2. Bing (Microsoft's answer to Google)
  3. Yahoo
  4. Biadu (from china)
  5. Ask
  6. AOL
  7. Excite
  8. DuckDuckGo.com "known for protecting the privacy of its users" - does not store your data
  9. WolframAlpha
  10. Yandec (from Russia)
  11. Lycos
  12. Dogpile.com - a meta search engine showing results from multiple search engines

(source: https://www.ecloudbuzz.com/top-10-best-search-engines-in-the-world/)

Internet decentralized

"The Internet’s decentralized nature has historically been its greatest super-power, granting it the ability to shrug off censors and spies and redistribute power away from corruptible gatekeepers out to the creators and innovators on its edges. But it’s only been in the last few years that the Net's own corporate children—Google, Amazon, Facebook, and the rest—have started to defeat that innate ability to re-route around such choke-holds.

In response, a movement to re-decentralize the Internet has sprung up online: networks of volunteers, communities, and small independent businesses working to develop new tools, and new ways of organizing online that might build a more resilient and equitable network." (www.eff.org)

"The leading nonprofit defending digital privacy, free speech, and innovation. ":

Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) - https://www.eff.org/

Youtube alternatives including privacy/decentrailsed/no censoring options:

"What is DTube ?

D.Tube is the first crypto-decentralized video platform, built on top of the STEEM Blockchain and the IPFS peer-to-peer network."

https://about.d.tube/

--------------------------

https://vimeo.com/ - main page no longer has videos like the Youtube layout and it appears as if one is forced to sigup to view videos. However they can be vieweed by going through a search engine like www.duckduckgo.com and typing "viemo" + topic or just go to https://vimeo.com/watch

----------------------------

Peertube - claims decentralised, free video alternative (to Youtube as exmple eg: https://peertube.co.uk/).

"PeerTube aspires to be a decentralized and free/libre alternative to video broadcasting services."

"PeerTube is not meant to become a huge platform that would centralize videos from all around the world.

Rather, it is a network of inter-connected small videos hosters"

"Peertube is not subject to any corporate monopoly, does not rely on ads and does not track you."

--------------------------

www.dailymotion.com

www.vevo.com ("The world’s largest all-premium music video provider..." - uses Youtube, Roku & others to display videso)

See: Top 10 Best Alternatives To YouTube: https://www.thetoptens.com/best-alternatives-youtube/

Major advantage of Youtube - still the best so far: reason: massive amount of videos and the search bar option is excellent. By combining search words and realted words, the results far exceeds all other alternatives tested. Other Youtube alternative search options yeild poor to no result videso listing on certain topics, not because the topic video does not exist but in some cases the search option does not list the expected video or at least related subject videos.

Internet Browsing privacy:

Use VPN and/or Tor

"Defend yourself against tracking and surveillance. Circumvent censorship." - Use VPN and/or Tor

Private browsing: See https://www.torproject.org/

"Our mission:

"o advance human rights and freedoms by creating and deploying free and open source anonymity and privacy technologies, supporting their unrestricted availability and use, and furthering their scientific and popular understanding."

The Tor Anonymity System's key functionality `Hidden Services' allows users to set up anonymous information services (like websites) that can only be accessed through the Tor network and therefore are protected against identification of the host that runs the services.

"Using these Hidden Services, critical political and human rights information can be published in a way that both the publisher and users of the service are protected from identification"

VPN (Virtual Private Network):

To prevent anyone from tracking you by your IP address you can also use VPN (Virtual Private Network) by itself or with Tor. The paid option VPN is best for maximun security.

VPN has plenty of benefits like the ability to change your IP, or encrypt your traffic, assuring you 100% online anonymity.

Some countries such as China, Russia, Iran, UAE, N.Korea & Turkey have banned VPN usage

(see list here: https://www.comparitech.com/vpn/where-are-vpns-legal-banned/)

There may be an issue with using both Tor & VPN: "...Because the traffic goes through the VPN, and then to the Tor network, exit nodes can still watch your traffic unencrypted. ...", see more info: https://blokt.com/guides/tor-vs-vpn

" Can I use a VPN with Tor?” Tor site FAQ states: "Generally speaking, we don't recommend using a VPN with Tor unless you're an advanced user who knows how to configure both in a way that doesn't compromise your privacy. You can find more detailed information about Tor + VPN at our wiki." https://support.torproject.org/

Also "It's strongly discouraged to install new add-ons in Tor Browser, because they can compromise your privacy and security."

"Want to help but no money to spend? Help us by protecting open source and its users": https://nlnet.nl/help/

"Do you have a great idea? Find out what NLnet can do for you": https://nlnet.nl/foundation/can_do.html
