The Sundance Film Festival continues until February 2nd and one of the spotlight films is One to One: John & Yoko, from award winning filmmaker Kevin Macdonald and Sam Rice-Edwards.

The film premiered at the 2024 Venice Film Festival and was referred to as "a remarkable gem".  The film restores footage of the One to One charity concert that benefited disabled children, the only full-length performance Lennon gave after leaving The Beatles.  

Synopsis:  Set in 1972 New York, this documentary explores John and Yoko's world amid a turbulent era. Centered on the One to One charity concert for special needs children, it features unseen archives, home movies, and restored footage.

It's the 40th Anniversary of the film, The Trip to Bountiful, which is now available to stream on Amazon Prime.  The film would win Geraldine Page an Oscar for Best Actress and it was also nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay.  It would go on to be considered one of the best films of the year by various critics and filmmakers.   

The film, which was produced by Horton Foote and Sterling Van Wagenen, wasn't backed by a major studio.  At the time, this was quite remarkable for a film that went on to receive the amount of critical acclaim and awards that this one did.  

Synopsis: Carrie Watts is an elderly woman who decides to visit her childhood home in Bountiful one last time. There, she meets a young woman with whom she shares her secrets and memories.
