This week we had the pleasure of unveiling the first of several new partnerships for Salon58 : a collaboration with MAI (Montréal, arts interculturels) to offer a creative residency in 2021! In addition to ongoing support and an allocation of funds to advance their practice, the selected artist will benefit in 2021 from a residency (with fee), and a spot in the official programming of Salon58's next season.
This joint mentorship supports artistic maturation and professional development of artists that encounter systemic and structural obstacle to their full participation in the arts. Intended for Indigenous artists, racialized artists, members of LGBTQIA2+ communities and/or artists living with chronic illnesses or disabilities, or neurodiverse or differently-abled artists, this program is open to artists from all disciplines.
