Best Sellers March

Lessons in Chemistry

The wonderfully quirky and engaging book, 'Lessons in Chemistry', maintained top spot in March with a healthy 2,088 sales (+447).

The new title, 'The Bookbinder of Jericho' by Pip Williams came in a close second selling 1,943 copies.

Eleanor Catton's 'Birnam Wood' also increased sales with 1,938 (+637)

Best Sellers April

The Bookbinder of Jericho

'The Bookbinder of Jericho' by Pip Williams took an emphatic lead to the Best Seller list for April selling 5,698 copies (+ 3,755 since last month).

Kate Morton's 'Homecoming' came in second with 1,883 copies.

'Lessons in Chemistry' still holds ground coming in a close third with 1,852 (-236) copies sold.

KPI's

March presented significant growth for New Zealand with a 15% increase in monthly sales, not sure what happened in April which was down almost 2%.

Australia had a similar pattern, up over 7% in March and dropping in April to 1%.

Year To Date Australia is sitting up 13.21% and New Zealand up 2.75%.

  • Australia:  +7.4%  / +1.13%
  • New Zealand: +15.58% / -1.95%

System Updates

March and April updates saw significant improvements to Gift Cards and Self Onboarding, along with Speed and Website improvements. Housekeeping and tidy-ups concentrated on APIs among other things.

Beyond NZ

London Book Fair 2023

Last month we joined hundreds of others from the book world at Olympia in London for the London Book Fair. 

It was a great opportunity to meet other industry players, chat to bookshop owners and get a sense of whether CirclePOS might be useful in the UK.
