If you don’t follow TET on Facebook (please do!) or you haven’t visited our website recently (ditto) you may not be aware of our big news: on 24 February, TET won the NBS Environmental Award at the Nelson Tasman Chamber of Commerce Business Awards.
While I would like to be all gracious and dignified in announcing this, I still can’t help wearing a goofy grin and mentally shouting, “YAY!”
What lifts my heart most about this award is that it’s firmly embedded in our local community. I’m sure at least some of the people we rubbed shoulders with on awards night have taken part in a planting day with their whānau, emptied a trap or attended a catchment restoration meeting. And if not them, someone close to them.
Awards like this one are meant to be shared. It belongs to everyone who supports TET’s work in any way—including taking time out of your day to read this. Thank you.
This is a newsletter of celebration. Aside from the win, we’re celebrating a new partnership with Rotary, welcoming a venerable project that’s just joined the TET community, and introducing you to another local Conservation Hero.
Congratulations to everyone! Tau kē—awesome!
