Each month, we will be celebrating the incredible contributions of our student associates through our Student of the Month nominations. These students have demonstrated professionalism, dedication, and a strong work ethic at their respective job placements. A huge THANK YOU to our supervisors for recognizing their efforts and for the invaluable mentorship they provide!

On Wednesday, January 29th, ICA Cristo Rey hosted its Women Who Lead networking event as part of the Level Up series, bringing together more than 50 Bay Area women professionals and students for an evening of meaningful conversation, mentorship, and growth.

At this event, students practiced networking skills, explored career paths, and learned from the inspiring stories of our incredible guests. Mentorship is a vital part of professional, personal, and academic growth, especially for young women as they advance in their careers. According to a recent study, 58% of high school girls said they do not think they are smart enough for their dream job. However a 2023 national survey of over 1,000 high school girls found that 86% would feel more confident if they had a mentor.

By connecting students with role models who share their experiences and insights, they receive the guidance and encouragement they need to navigate both professional and academic spaces as young women. Senior Gabriela C. shared, “I really enjoyed hearing about everyone's journeys in their careers. It was a reassuring reminder that not every journey is smooth and that the challenges we may come across are just opportunities to learn and improve!”

We are deeply grateful to ICA’s Board of Directors, our Corporate Work Study partners, and our friends and supporters who made this event possible. A special thank you to the All Stars Project team for leading an engaging workshop, encouraging students to step outside of their comfort zones and embrace new opportunities for learning and growth.

These experiences empower our students to see themselves as future leaders—and with the continued support of our amazing community, they are well on their way to achieving their dreams.
