It's been a difficult week
for our city and the city region with the sentencing of the Southport
murderer at Liverpool Crown Court. Our thoughts and prayers are with
Alice, Bebe and Elsie, their families and the other victims injured on that horrendous
day last July.
We have seen some very
high winds and stormy weather over the last day in Liverpool. If you spot any dangerous or fallen trees, please let

The awarding of an energy
contract may not be the most glamorous story, but it’s a hugely important one.
This decision will save the City £2m, and reduce our carbon footprint massively
in doing so. This is the latest demonstration of how we are working to be a
well-run Council, and play our part in achieving net zero as well.
