If you ever wonder how much stuff you own, pack it all up, or maybe just try packing it all into one room. It might be best to not pick your smallest room for this task.
Praise God we made it to Missouri. And everything we packed on the truck made it too. But we did leave some things behind.
We were able to unload and spend a few days in Missouri together before Bryan headed north to Cleveland. He was there for about a week for some more training with Baptist Mid-Missions.
While he was there, four of the kids were able to attend Bible camp down in Arkansas for a few days. It was their first time attending camp, and they had a lot of fun learning more about God. And praise the Lord, everyone made it back to Missionary Acres safely.
That was followed by a busy week with a youth group from Sunrise Bible Church in North Branch, MN. They were a great blessing. Not only did they help get a lot of work completed around the Missionary Acres property, but they also completed some much-needed work in the home we will be living in.
Thanks to the hard work of the youth group, we were able to remove all of the old carpets, empty the garage, and strip the garage down to the studs. There is still a lot of work to be completed, but it was nice to have some help with the start.
Tanner Family Update
July has been full of paperwork and logistics. We are working on all of the little things that one has to complete when moving: setting up new insurance, registering to vote, getting new driver's licenses, and transferring vehicle titles. It is a little strange to see Missouri plates on our vehicles that have always had Washington ones, but just seeing those plates is a reminder of how much God has worked in our lives to get us here.
We're also learning where everything is and the best places to shop for groceries. Thankfully the folks here in Missouri have been very helpful, patient, and kind along the way. The Lord willing, we will settle in soon, and adjust to our new routine.
Bryan is also researching churches in the area to contact. Since we are not yet at full support, we need to continue scheduling meetings and raising funds.
We are still waiting to see what happens related to some legal challenges here in Missouri that will impact the costs of our medical insurance. We are praying that things turn out in a way that allows us to keep the costs low, but we know that either way, God is in control and has it all figured out. We just have to keep trusting Him to get us to full support.
Missionary Acres Update
The apartment that has been a work in progress for some time is almost complete. We're down to some finishing touches in the kitchen, getting carpet installed, and then the normal final touches to clean up the construction mess before the residents move in.
As mentioned, we had a youth group this past week, and they did so much work around the property. Not only did they work on our house, but they were also able to help with the pouring of some footings for a new house that is being built. They also moved a lot of brick that will be used for the crawl space of the house. Additionally, they helped with some much-needed groundskeeping work throughout the property.
We are so thankful for the volunteer service that these young folks gave to God this past week.
If you are interested in coming to Missionary Acres for a mission trip -- all ages are welcome, you don't have to be part of a youth group -- please let us know, or reach out to Ken Moon (firstname.lastname@example.org).
As always, we thank you for your prayers. We know we would not be here today without all of the prayer support that you all provide.
Bryan & Lisa Tanner & Family
We made it safely to Missionary Acres on July 4th, and are settling in.
Owen made it through the move okay, and still has fairly good seizure control. His balance is getting better, and he was able to walk down to the park here at Missionary Acres the other day with some light support.
Jayme is making friends and adjusting to life on campus.
Ezra is beginning to sleep for longer periods of time each night. Sleep is a very big praise!
Brynna's arm is continuing to heal, and she almost has the full range of motion and use again.
Lisa doesn't have to use GPS to get to the store every time anymore. We're slowly learning the area!
For a clear path forward with the unexpected change in plans regarding insurance.
For wisdom as we seek new doctors in the area, especially for Owen, who has unique medical challenges.
For more meetings.
We are looking to get meetings scheduled in the south beginning in August. If you know of any churches that might be interested in our ministry, please let us know
That our family would grow closer to God and continue to grow spiritually as we adjust to being on the field and continue the last bits of deputation.
For salvation for our children who are not yet saved.
For one of the residents here at Missionary Acres who is in the hospital.
That God would raise our support level to 100%.
For continued safety on the roads.
For continued health for our family.
For Brynna's arm to completely heal and for her to not need physical therapy.
