Mary, Aaliyah and Abby are placed at UCSF Helen Diller Medical Center at Parnassus Heights for their senior year job placement. All three seniors work in the Volunteer Services department.

“Mary, Aaliyah, and Abby have found their groove which includes knowing what things need to be done throughout the day, checking in with me with any questions, confirming if there are any changes, and pivoting as needed. Over the past couple of weeks they've been working on a project for the Nursing Appreciation Event. Volunteer Services has been asked by leadership to create daisies (the symbol of the appreciation event). Our ICA student associates learned how to create large crepe paper daisies and also learned how to use a Cricut on their own! They've also been really great at telling me what additional tools and materials they need for the appreciation project.”

In the three years Kathleen has interned at AbbVie, she has made a noticeable contribution to our team projects and helped us tremendously. Kathleen continues to be a shining example of what strong work ethic, initiative, and passion for science can achieve. She has a positive attitude and willingness to tackle anything we give her and all of us have no doubt that she will be very successful in whatever career she chooses.

Marta works with our employee events team to set up company meetings, including for our CEO. She’s provided research to help me make decisions about vendors and technology as well as investigated what causes our community affairs team should focus on for employee volunteering and giving campaigns. Recently, Marta helped our employee giving foundation clean up a database for employees and retirees seeking hardship grants from the company. She has been instrumental in helping our corporate Historian and Archivist photograph, sort and organize artifacts and images for their restoration and digitization projects.

Marta brings energy, efficiency, and organization to her work each day, and she always asks great questions. We are thrilled to have her on the team this school year.

This school year, Sophia is placed at Buena Vista Horace Mann and primarily assists the kindergarten class. She brings much joy to the classroom and is a great help! All the students enjoy having her in the classroom and were very excited to take part in surprising her with this award. Congratulations, Sophia!

This school year, Isabella is placed at St. Philip School and primarily assists the art class. She provides support to the art teacher with various in class projects and works alongside students in different grade levels. The students truly enjoy having her assistance in class. Congratulations, Bella!
