This Sunday

"Transcending and Transforming -- Our Fire Ceremony"
Near the beginning of the New Year, we hold a ritual to bid farewell to the old year. In a ceremony of the burning bowl, people are invited to write down words, or a phrase, to sum up what they wish to release before entering the new year. Using flash paper, congregants will ignite and toss their words into the air. Congregants will also be welcome to speak of their hopes for the future.

Religious Education
Children in RE will discuss the awe that comes with the feeling of being connected to others, and explore this idea of community through learning about Hanukkah.

Message from Rev. Aileen

Come to the fire, the healing fire! We are at the end of the year. It is time to take stock and evaluate. How did we do over the last year? What do we wish to change in the coming year? What do we need to let go of? We bring our hopes and dreams, fears and failures to the fire to be healed. It is time for change and healing. Let go and let the fire carry our dreams.
