At Faith in Motion we follow a simple 3 step process in our rehab model.
Step 1) get out of pain
It should be no surprise that most people reach out for rehab due to pain or injury impacting their life. Our first goal is to decrease the pain in order to increase the quality of your life. No one likes being in pain. This phase will likely include a lot of hands on treatment and some beginner corrective exercises.
This phase is also where most traditional physical therapy models DISCHARGE YOU. However, we know that just because the pain is gone, doesn’t mean the underlying issue is fixed.
Step 2) improve movement.
This is where traditional physical therapy falls short. We address the body as a whole. Where are you compensating which is leading to your injury? Where are you weak at? Where are you tight at? Our goal is to get you back to what you want to do better than before. We want to give you the knowledge of how your body works and how to train.
Step 3) performance and goal setting.
This is definitely where most rehab settings fall short. In network rehab and insurance doesn’t care about your 5k goal, your weight lifting PR or what sport you play. We do. We like seeing our clients living life to the max. Most of our clients who “graduate” from therapy transition to athletic performance coaching either in person or online. Or they continue to check in with us on a regular basis. We are always in their corner rooting for them!
