Even the most “in-the-know” locals may not yet have discovered Pratt’s Greenhouse, tucked away on a lovely stretch of Hillendale Road just minutes from the heart of Kennett Square. The longstanding wholesale business has only been open to the public since 2021.
But everyone has admired the artistry of Pratt’s Greenhouse owner Bill Reynolds, who has designed the Kennett Square planters for nearly 20 years.
At a recent visit to Pratt’s Greenhouse, Reynolds shared well-seasoned gardening advice as well as a peek behind the scenes of this venerable local business—and a love story.

Farm & Vine is an exceptional Summerfest experience—enjoy a three-course farm-to-table meal from Zack and Karessa Hathaway from Sweet Amelia's, along with wine pairings from R FIVE WINES. Kieran and Kristie Robinson (KSQ locals and co-owners of R FIVE WINES, now available at Sweet Amelia's!) will share their philosophy behind the food and wine pairings in this intimate lunch, which will be held at the charming Work2Gether building in KSQ beginning at 12:30pm on June 11th, followed by early admission to Kennett Summerfest.
Without our Collaborators, none of Kennett Collaborative's beloved programs and events—including this weekly newsletter— would be possible. We're grateful for the support of local businesses like Kennett Square Ace Hardware and wish them a very happy first anniversary in KSQ!
Please join our friends at Ace TODAY, between 11am and 2pm, for their Flavor Fest and One-Year Anniversary celebration! There will be grilling demos, free snacks, live music, special sales, free raffles, and the chance to win a Traeger Tailgater or ORCA cooler. Click here for more details and head over to Ace!
KSQ Farmers Market customers are nuts about Nutty Novelties’ award-winning freshly ground nut butters, which you can find at market every second and fourth Friday.
Brothers Caleb and Jesse Mangum started Nutty Novelties with a vision to make people’s lives more fun and healthy, one unique nut butter at a time. Along with their amazing staff, they craft everything from classic peanut butter to pistachio butter, dark chocolate almond, white chocolate walnut, cashew butter, and more at their production facility in Telford, PA. You can see part of their story here and also catch them on 6abc FYI Philly tonight at 7pm!
Jesse’s favorite is their Cappuccino Peanut Butter. “If you think it's delicious from the jar (and it is), just imagine it when it's warm from the grinder,” he says. “It makes taste testing for quality assurance very easy!”
What's the top-selling nut butter at the KSQ Farmers Market? “The people of Kennett Square love their Habanero Honey Peanut Butter!” Jess says.
Read more here about the 2023 market season and new and returning producers. Find the KSQ Farmers Market every Friday from 3pm to 6pm just outside The Creamery at 401 Birch Street, Kennett Square.

While we love every season in KSQ, summer is one of our favorites. We're looking forward to more and more local bounty at the KSQ Farmers Market every Friday, to the Kennett Beautification Plant Sale on May 6th and 7th, and to Third Thursdays on State Street, which return for a new season on May 18th!
We encourage you to get your Summerfest tickets before they sell out! When you buy a ticket to Summerfest, you're not only buying a ticket to one of the region's premier wine tasting events, you're also supporting local wineries and all of the Kennett Collaborative programs and events you love throughout the year (including this Around the Square newsletter). As always, we thank you for your support.
Thank you for reading and supporting local. We wish you a great week "Around the Square"!
