The 'lead mare' takes the herd to water.
She provides safety, comfort, play and food in that order.
It's always a sign of good physical, emotional and mentally balanced work when the horse and human leave the arena together for water and both willingly return!!
Rhett could just as easily have returned to the open pasture where the other 3 horses were grazing.
Or he could have gone to the barn to stand under a fan.
But he enjoyed himself enough, and felt safe and comfortable enough, that he was willing to return to the play area.
It was about 6 min total from leaving the arena to having a water drink and break to returning to arena for more play.
I sped up about 3+ minutes of water drinking to shorten the video time!
My passion is developing good horses and educating their humans so, together, they can realize their dreams & enjoy their equine partnership.
