If you have not scheduled a mammogram, please don’t wait any longer. I have breast cancer, but luckily, I found it at an early stage.
My August mammogram (which was three months late, supposedly because of a backlog of appointments for people that had delayed getting mammograms during the pandemic and a crunch on staffing) turned into a second mammogram, then an ultrasound, then another mammogram and ultrasound—this time with a biopsy. And finally, the diagnosis I never wanted. “You have cancer.”
You never forget hearing those words. Because of my mammogram, mine was caught fairly early so I encourage everyone to get their mammograms…and get them sooner than later.
It put a damper on October, but I have rallied and am writing my latest Wicked Earl story, Earl of Halsburg. (It’s on preorder now in the collection, Wicked Earls Forever). You can check it out on the link below. There will be more to come in my next newsletter about Halsburg.
I’ve also decorated for Halloween, albeit a little more subdued. I put up my Halloween tree, and I’m not sure I don’t appreciate it more when the lights are off. My granddaughters helped me, and we got the tree looking good! (Pictures below). I also decorated my dining room and the fireplace. But that was it. The front door is more fall-ish because I think my enthusiasm for changing out seasonal decorations will be a smidge less than in years past until my treatments are over.
Enjoy Halloween and the preparations for the upcoming holidays. I am very thankful for all my many blessings… including my friends and all of you!
Hugs!
Anna
