~ LAMBING SERVICE ~
Three dozen of us gathered among the lambs at Hall Farm, Brooksby. We thought of "a world without any animals", then thanked God "for all your living creatures". We confessed our lack of love & care for this living, breathing, utterly brilliant planet, then engaged with our environment through our 5 senses. We considered the joy in heaven when a "lost sheep" (lost life) is rescued, then rejoiced in the Lord always... and in the round! We thanked our heavenly Father for the strength & care of ewes and the bounding joy of lambs, then asked our Lord Jesus for wisdom, endurance and "a just reward" for those who care for sheep. Finally, we recommitted ourselves in trust to the Good Shepherd, whose goodness "will lead me home". And in the midst of it all, the miracle of new life as a lamb was birthed beside us!
Tea, coffee, calving Herefords, lamb cuddles & feeding and a Collection for the Ukraine topped off a very special morning. With particular thanks to James Fryer of Brooksby College for hosting us so ably & generously.
