MLK WEEK

Golden Tribe Lecture Series: 'An Evening with Karamo Brown'

The Golden Tribe Lecture Series at Florida State University presents Karamo Brown as the keynote speaker for the 32nd annual MLK Week Celebration. A graduate of Florida A&M University, Karamo worked as a licensed social worker for over a decade before transitioning into media. The television host and activist has won three Emmys and a Television Critics Association award. The lecture will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, at Ruby Diamond Concert Hall. Doors open at 6 p.m. Admission is free for all guests with priority entry for FSU students with a valid ID. This event is 18+. For more information, visit sga.fsu.edu.

When a parent is incarcerated they don’t stop being a parent. They are forced to find ways to continue life and to minimize consequences for their kids. FSU launches Africa Network Colloquium Series with first speaker

Florida State University has launched a new colloquium series, organized by the FSU Africa Network, with a focus on faculty research and teaching in Africa. Stephanie Simmons Zuilkowski, an associate professor of international and multicultural education in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies in the College of Education, is the featured speaker for the inaugural event, which will take place from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 24, in the Center for Global Engagement, room 2500.
