Welcome to the first newsletter from Rooted and Overflowing. My name is Letitia and I am thrilled to have you join me as I seek to live a life firmly rooted in Christ and with overflowing gratitude. I am honored to serve the Lord and to be entrusted with the responsibility of sharing His Word of love and redemption at such a time as now.
The foundation for Rooted and Overflowing is from Colossians 2:6-7 which says, “Therefore, as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, overflowing with gratitude.” My website, LetitiaEvans.com, is an outreach of Rooted and Overflowing Ministries and is the home for my blog, the Rooted and Overflowing podcast, R&O Style Co. and more.
As we enter October, to say there is a lot going on is an understatement. As I write this, the President of the United States and leading officials have tested positive for the coronavirus- just weeks before the presidential election. This has been an unprecedented year as EVERYTHING has been upended and we are learning how to do life differently. Since March, every holiday, rite of passage like graduation, and even the way we mourn loved ones has changed. With so much being in flux right now, it brings to my mind the scripture found in Hebrews 10:23 which says, “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.”
Friends, it is critical that we hold tightly to the hope we have in Jesus Christ. We cannot let bad news or unanswered prayers keep us from believing that God is for us. Instead of being distracted by news of the problems in this world, let’s pray about them. God rules from heaven and we can go to Him about everything that troubles us. We must also remain vigilant because the enemy will use God’s sovereignty in our lives to turn us against God when things don’t turn out our way. Do not fall for it. God is for us, even when He is maturing us. God is faithful and He will deliver on His precious promises to us. God said in Jeremiah 32:27, “I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for me?” Indeed, there is not.
