GLN Conference Report #3:
Appointment of Ernst van der Heijden as Executive Director.
October 15, 2017 – Bangkok, Thailand:
At the 15th Annual GLN Conference, Andrew Titley announced with immediate effect, Ernst van der Heijden is assuming the management of GLN as its Executive Director.
Andrew Titley stated that “Running a successful forwarder network is primarily about active communications between the network and its members – this is a area that GLN has been lacking during the past 18-months under my management and, recognizing this deficiency, I am so excited to welcome Ernst to GLN as its Executive Director as communications and member interaction are his strength as a former freight forwarder. We now have the “Dream-Team” of Ernst at the helm ably assisted by Anthony Calagna covering administration and myself in an advisory role”
Ernst van der Heijden:
Ernst is, at heart, a forwarder and appreciates the hard and normally thankless work performed by Members on a daily basis. He has strong operational knowledge of the forwarding industry for many years in several countries. He is a problem-solver and has already put his experience and knowledge to good use in resolving several lingering issues between Members. Ernst speaks 5 languages and is a people-person who greatly enjoys interacting with members. Being from the Netherlands, Ernst adds a new international dimension to the generally USA-based GLN organization of the past. Ernst will be working in the best interests of ALL GLN Members. He is disciplined and organized with the experience of an operational professional with many years of experience. Ernst can be trusted to follow-up on matters important to Members.
