It was my birthday month, so that's good. And I got ebook vouchers, which is even better!
As I said last month, this year's just flying by. I mean, this coming weekend is Easter already, which is pretty shocking. Also, just a heads-up that Thursday's April Fool's Day, so don't believe anything you read or hear before noon. You have been warned....
I've been doing a book marketing course by an author-coach I really respect, called Nick Stephenson. The premise of the course is to decide how much money you want/need to make from your book business, and then do some maths, and work out how many clicks you need to your books every day (because only a percentage of people who click will buy).
To cut a long story short, I've worked out that in order to make sure that no matter what happens, my business at least breaks even every month, I need a minimum of 15 clicks per day to my book pages (hence the subject of this email).
That sounds like a tall order, but apparently it really shouldn't be. So I'm going to be spending the next few weeks optimising my book pages on my website and all the retailers to make sure that they get found by the people most likely to be interested in them. I'm also rethinking my social media and advertising strategy, so that I can attract as many people as possible.
But you can help, dear reader... and you might even be able to make some money in the process. I'm going to assume you've already read all my books, which is the obvious, so if you'd like to know more, just reply to this email and I'll give you some ideas. Basically, what it boils down to is telling people about me so they go take a look... And if you become an affiliate for your favourite retailer (more info in the Finances section below), they'll pay you commission for every sale you refer.
