Art's subjective anyway, right?

Eat Your Heart Out, Picasso

I had high hopes as a kid and wanted to become an animator for Walt Disney Studios. The storytelling always came more naturally to me, and I happily fell into writing novels, but I ended up getting an art degree anyway. I still consider art my first love, though drawing is definitely not my strong suit. Exhibit A:

Maybe Some Context Would Help?

One of the reward tiers for the Return to Limbo City audiobooks Kickstarter is a custom Lana Harvey short story. A backer wanted some payba--I mean, to pay homage to one of her lovers past.

I suggested we have him trip over a tennis ball on a little old lady's walker, resulting in him faceplanting in a crosswalk...just as an old man in a muscle car is driving by, making eyes at our unwitting accomplice. The anonymous backer (see, your secrets are safe with me) was having trouble visualizing this scenario, so art degree to the rescue!

Okay, I'll admit not all of my art is of the stick figure variety. And I will toot my horn and say that I'm fairly decent at digital design. I'm longtime BFFs with Photoshop (like 20+ years). Still, I hire out most of my cover designs because there are some incredible artists out there, and because I already have 623 different hats I have to wear on any given day. But every now and then, I find my way back to that sandbox. Like now, with the Kickstarter short story collection cover. Exhibit B:

Is there someone special you'd like to off?

The Kickstarter ends August 30th, so if you'd like to send Lana to harvest a soul of your choosing, check out the campaign page and the various reward tiers! There is also a swag box full of Lana and Limbo City goodies, including this long-sleeved Reapers Inc. T-shirt, modeled here by Grim:
