That's right, this week, we're looking at some interesting opportunities in the recent camping craze.

The Stats 📊

• Interest in camping is soaring. Google searches for "camping" have reached their highest peak so far
• Not just that, the tourism ministry is also building out infrastructure in hopes of boosting the local tourism scene

Now I think there are tons of interesting opportunities right now in this space because of two things:

• One, camping used to be one of those intense activities where you'll need to find your own firewood and build a fire yourself but now it has evolved to be a somewhat luxury activity a.k.a glamping 
• What this means is that it's attracting a different cohort of people, people who want the experience and are willing to pay, meaning more 💲💲
• Two, the camping scene overseas is already very mature like in the States so the easiest thing to do is to see what works over there and copy it here

• Outdoorsy
• RVshare
• Hipcamp 
• Glamping Hub 
• Harvest Hosts
• Tentrr

Opportunities 🔨

• All of the above are marketplaces. Of these, the most interesting one is Harvest Hosts, an RV club that connects campers with wineries, breweries, and other businesses willing to host campers
  • RV owners pay $99-$139/yr to join and get access to Harvest Hosts’ database of hosts
  • Members can stay 1 night with the host in exchange they'll need to spend at the host's business
  • Everything is dealt with between the campers and the host. The app is purely a directory that provides contact info
• Now we don't have wineries or breweries but what we have are Durian farms 
• There are also other more obvious opportunities like DTC camping brands or being a camping influencer
