Open-source intelligence indicates that two Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), originating from Houthi-controlled territory in Yemen, were intercepted and neutralized over the Gulf of Aden by vessels from OP PROSPERITY GUARDIAN. The exact location of the engagement is unspecified. A subsequent UAV was destroyed over the Red Sea.
There are no reports of injuries or damage to coalition forces or commercial vessels.
Likely due to the presence of coalition vessels belonging to international missions ASPIDES and OP PROSPERITY Guardian, reports of successful intercepts of UAV based attacks have increased since early January. However, increased small boat harassment by both manned and unmanned vessels, and missile attacks continue to pose a threat within the region.
Ships are advised to proceed with caution in this area and report any suspicious activities to the UKMTO.
