Like the rest of the world, NNPC is watching the war that has broken out in Ukraine with horror. We are a global organization and so our network extends into the conflict zone. We are following the situation closely and hoping that it will end quickly, with as few casualties as possible.
We are also working hard for those of our members and policyholders who are or may be affected by this war situation. The news reports are raising many questions. Based on Article 33 of the Class 1 Insured Risks, liabilities or costs or expenditure arising from or caused by war risks may be excluded from the cover. We therefore recommend avoiding the Black Sea ports of both Ukraine and Russia for the time being if possible.
But what if specific plans and agreements have already been made to sail those ports? Do the agreements signed leave possibilities for refusing a trip, for example? We have written this article that draws your attention to various general clauses.
